Overcoming Fit Across a Population for E-Textile Clothing
Abstract
Human bodies are a well-documented range of sizes. Whether expressed through clothing sizes or bespoke measurements, there is no truly one-size-fits-all when it comes to garments. The same item of clothing fits various bodies in different ways and when clothing is embedded with e-textile sensors to track body position and motion, this has an impact on the sensor performance. This project is about developing design strategies that encompass sensor design, signal processing, and garment design to overcome limitations in garment fit for wearable computing systems. Applicants are encouraged to put forward how they would like to address this challenge.
