Report and Support

The best way to get support from us is through the university's Report + Support online tool.

Using the Report and Support tool does not make a formal report to the university - it just puts you in contact with our support team, and lets us know how we can help you. You can also send an email to the Student Support team by emailing harassment-support@imperial.ac.uk

Use the Report and Support link below to to make an anonymous or named disclosure of sexual misconduct or you can contact Student Services directly.

Report + Support

Urgent help

I need urgent help

Imperial is committed to providing an environment where students and staff feel safe, valued and supported. This includes taking steps to ensure that the community is aware of what amounts to harassment and sexual misconduct and ensuring that appropriate action is taken when such incidents occur, and that support is provided.

Reporting

From this page you can access relevant policies and procedures which explain how to report incidents of harassment or sexual misconduct. You can let us know about any incident that you need support with.

Such incidents may have occurred in person or online and you can report incidents which have affected you, or those which you have witnessed, or which have caused you concern. The Report and Support webpages also enable anonymous reports to be made and explain what will be done when such a report is made. You can also email the Report and Support team directly.

You can also access information on the procedures the University follows for the investigation of formal complaints of harassment or sexual misconduct and what you can expect during the process. This includes the support available, as well as how disciplinary panel hearings are conducted to deliver fair outcomes.

Where a report indicates that a criminal offence may have occurred, you’ll find information about the support we can provide in assisting you to make a referral to the police if you choose to do so.

Support Available to Students

There are a range of support services that are available to students, whether or not a formal report is made against another student or member of staff. Separate support is available to those who are the subject of complaint.

Imperial has a dedicated team of  Student Support Advisers  (Sexual Violence and Harassment) that work with students who have experienced sexual violence, sexual misconduct or harassment to understand the support they need.

Guidance is also available for those supporting a friend or partner who discloses sexual violence.

Training

You can also find out how Imperial is taking steps to prevent harassment and sexual misconduct through training provided to students on consent. Training is also undertaken by all staff on how to recognise and prevent harassment and sexual misconduct.

The Personal Relationships Policy reflects our commitment to providing a safe and positive experience and sets out the expectations and obligations of staff with respect to personal relationships between staff and students to ensure that students are protected.

Freedom of Speech

Imperial’s approach to harassment must be consistent with the need for us to have particular regard to, and place significant weight on, the importance of freedom of speech within the law, academic freedom and tolerance for controversial views in an educational context.
