FAQs for Champions

What is the Passkey Champions network?

The Passkey Champions network has been established to help promote and support the university-wide rollout of passkey authentication.

As part of this network, Champions can:

  • Review materials we share, including the FAQs
  • Provide feedback on constraints, dependencies, issues, and any gaps we may have missed. Imperial is a complex environment, and your input will help us better understand how different teams and departments work.
  • Receive updates and dashboards on how their department is adopting passkeys.
  • Use the Passkeys Comms Toolkit to promote passkeys in their department.

To become a Passkey Champion please contact Ingrid Joannou.

How do I find out if there is a Passkey Champion for my department?

Please contact Ingrid Joannou for your department's Passkey Champion.

How can I track the rollout or passkeys within my area?

You can request:

  • Access to the latest passkey adoption dashboards
  • A spreadsheet detailing passkey adoption within your department - this is sent weekly to Department Champions on a Monday morning.

To become a department Passkey Champion, please contact Ingrid Joannou.

If I create a passkey but do not use it as my primary authentication method, will this contribute to the passkey dashboard?

Yes, registering a passkey, but not using this as your default primary authentication method, will contribute to the passkey adoption dashboards.

What if a member of my team cannot sign in to my account?

Please advise your peers who cannto sign in to their account to contact the ICT Service Desk via phone +44 (0) 20 7594 9000 so that we can verify their identity.

For security reasons, we are unable to carry out any account-related actions without verifying identity. This process requires a phone call and will include a video call.

Please ensure tell peers to have a valid form of ID with them for the call.
