All staff and students must activate their Imperial account before they can log in to the services we offer. You can activate your account using the methods below.

If you have any issues activating your account, contact the ICT Service Desk.

On campus

When on campus, you can log in to one of the Imperial PCs using the credentials below

Username - activate

Password - Act1vateAct1vate!

This will allow you to start the process to activate your account:

  1. Read the Terms and conditions of use shown and click on the Accept button.
  2. Enter your full name as given to the College on your application form.
  3. Enter your date of birth.
  4. Enter your College Identifier (CID), found on all official university correspondence and your ID card. It needs to be 8 digits long, so if the CID shown is only 7 digits long, add a zero (0) to the start. Make sure not to enter any spaces before or after the CID, or you will get an error message.
  5. Create a password and confirm it by entering it a second time.
  6. Click the Activate account button.

If the details are correct, your account will be activated within a few seconds and your email address will be displayed.

Off campus

You can still activate your account off campus or using your own device on campus using these steps:

  1. Go to the Activate account web page.
  2. Read the Terms and conditions of use shown and click on the Accept button.

  4. Enter your date of birth.
  5. Enter your College Identifier (CID), found on all official university correspondence and your ID card. 6. Create a password and confirm it by entering it a second time.
